What each app actually is
RemNote is a notes-and-flashcards study workspace built as an outliner. Documents are hierarchies of bullets. Those bullets can be linked with references, tags, and portals, and viewed as a knowledge graph. Yuhimo is a notes app with optional learning. The main object is a page. You can keep a page as an ordinary note forever. Learning is something you turn on for pages you want to retain, not a requirement of writing. Organization is a tree of nested pages, not an outliner with portals and a graph.
The overlap is real: both keep source material next to a review habit. The product difference is not “who has spaced repetition.” It is what the scheduler treats as one item, and how much exam tooling you have to take on to get it.
What gets scheduled
This is the decision that should settle most Yuhimo vs RemNote comparisons.

The note stays visible around the card. The queue is still cards.
In Yuhimo, a learning page is the scheduled unit. You write the page, optionally add questions, then try to reconstruct the topic. After you rate the review, the scheduler updates that page. Questions help you recall it. They do not become independently scheduled cards. Yuhimo does not have a flashcard queue.
That is the same distinction as spaced repetition without flashcards: you can still use retrieval practice without splitting every idea into its own scheduled prompt.
Neither model is universally better.
Card-level scheduling is stronger when a miss should isolate one fact: a definition, a cloze, a labeled structure, a reverse cue. Page-level scheduling is stronger when the thing you care about is the connected explanation, and you do not want a second database of cards to maintain.
Same topic, two workflows
Take how a DNS lookup turns a hostname into an IP address: recursive resolver, root, TLD, authoritative nameserver, cache, TTL.
RemNote workflow
You outline the lookup path in a document. Then you extract cards, for example:
- a concept card for what a recursive resolver does;
- clozes for the root → TLD → authoritative order;
- a reverse card for what a TTL controls;
- image occlusion on a lookup diagram, if the figure matters.
Each card can fail or succeed on its own schedule. If you keep mixing up TTL with cache location, that one prompt can return sooner than the rest of the topic. That granularity is the point of a flashcard-in-notes system.
Yuhimo workflow
You keep one page for the lookup path. Surrounding notes—tooling, lecture asides, links—can stay as ordinary pages with learning off.
On the DNS page you might add prompts such as:
- What does the recursive resolver ask first?
- What happens after the TLD nameserver replies?
- What does TTL change about a later lookup?
During review you try to reconstruct the whole path, use the prompts if you added them, then grade the page: Forgot, Barely, Remembered, or Easily. The next interval belongs to that page, not to each prompt. If TTL is the weak part, you either edit the page so the next review hits it, or you split TTL onto its own learning page. The scheduler will not notice the hole for you.
Same subject. Different maintenance cost. Different failure signal.
Notes, cards, and questions
In RemNote, bullets can remain ordinary notes. Flashcard creation is optional; an uncarded bullet is not a scheduled unit. Notes are the surface from which cards can be made, but created cards—not every note—are what the queue reviews.
That is efficient when you already think in prompts. It is extra work when you wanted a readable explanation and turning bullets into cards feels like a tax on finishing the note.
Yuhimo’s default is the page as a note. Questions are optional. A learning page can be reviewed from the title and the page itself, without any prompts.
Do not treat Yuhimo questions as RemNote cards with a different label. In RemNote, a card is the review object. In Yuhimo, a question is a cue attached to the page. You do not rate each question. You rate the page after you have used whatever cues you want. That is closer to active recall with notes than to a deck.
If you need thousands of atomic items—vocabulary, labeled anatomy, formula clozes—RemNote is built for that job. Yuhimo will feel underpowered because optional page questions are not independently scheduled cards.
Reviewing and grading
RemNote usually lets you rate yourself after you see the answer. For some cards you can type a response and have RemNote compare it, including optional AI grading. (RemNote Help) Self-rating is still the default; typed checking is extra structure when you want the app to catch a mismatch.
Yuhimo trusts your self-assessment. It is not an automatic examiner. After you try to recall the page, you grade it:

The scheduler uses that rating. It does not score whether a typed line matched a stored answer.

After a page graduates to review, Yuhimo accepts one review grade per calendar day. New pages still in the learning phase can return the same day when a short step is due. Do not flatten that to “you can only ever grade once per day.”
PDFs, exams, and study tooling

Yuhimo does not have an in-app PDF annotator, image occlusion, or an exam-date planner. You can use a PDF or DOCX as input when drafting study pages with AI. You review that draft before saving. Saving does not turn pages into learning pages. After import, the working object is still a page you edit, not a textbook replica you mark up.
If your current habit is “open the PDF, occlude the figure, grind cards until the exam date,” RemNote is the product that matches that habit. Yuhimo does not offer that workflow.
AI in each product

Yuhimo AI is a drafting helper. It can draft pages from a topic, pasted text, or a PDF/DOCX file. You review the draft before saving. It does not check whether you remembered the page, and it does not replace self-assessment. It is not an AI Tutor equivalent.
If you want the app to quiz you from the PDF you just uploaded, RemNote is doing a different job. If you want a first draft of a page you will edit and maybe later enable for learning, Yuhimo’s AI matches that smaller role.
Platforms, offline, and pricing

Yuhimo is used in the browser as a web app. Official native iOS or Android apps were not documented in this research. Offline, you can read cached notes. You cannot edit, grade, start learning sessions, or use AI without a connection.
RemNote offers a free plan. As of 15 September 2026, Pro is listed at $8/month when billed yearly. Free-plan limits include 3 annotated PDFs and 5 image-occlusion cards. Check RemNote’s pricing page for current plans rather than treating any other tier number as frozen here.
Yuhimo currently presents signup as free, with no credit card required. Specific paid-plan prices were not clearly published at the time of writing, so this page does not invent one. That is not a promise that the product stays free forever.
Which one should you use?

Stay with RemNote if
If you already use RemNote as a study desk, switching to Yuhimo does not give you a smaller RemNote. Stay if your reviews are card-shaped, your sources are PDFs you annotate in-app, or you commute on reviews that must work offline in a native app. Those are fit issues, not a claim that RemNote is “the better product” in every sense.
When Yuhimo is a poor substitute
Do not switch to Yuhimo to get a lighter RemNote clone. It will not give you:
