One grade per day

When you turn on learning, a page starts in the learning phase. This is the initial acquisition flow with short steps between reviews.

After enough successful Good or Easy ratings, the page graduates to the review phase. From then on, Yuhimo uses longer spaced-repetition intervals through FSRS-light.

The one-grade-per-calendar-day limit applies in review, not during the initial learning phase.

After you grade a page in review, that page cannot receive another review grade for the rest of the current calendar day.

You can still open and read the page. You just cannot submit another review grade for it until the next calendar day.

During the learning phase, a page is not limited to one grade per calendar day. Instead, it becomes eligible again when its next short learning step is due.

Typical learning-step intervals after a grade are:

• Again — about 15 minutes
• Hard — about 8 hours
• Good — about 24 hours
• Easy — about 3 days

If you choose Again in the morning, the page can become due again later the same day. A Good rating usually means waiting until the next day, but shorter steps can still bring a page back on the same calendar day when their interval has passed.

A page graduates to review after three cumulative Good or Easy successes. Hard does not count toward graduation. Again resets the learning success count.

For pages in review, the one-grade-per-day rule applies across all review entry points.

It does not matter whether you graded the page in the main review session, a scoped learning session, or manually from the page. Once a review-phase page has been graded today, it cannot be graded again today.

Learning-phase pages follow short step intervals instead. They can return the same day when the next learning step is due.

In review, Yuhimo uses your grade as a scheduling signal through FSRS-light.

If the same review-phase page could be graded many times in one day, the schedule could be distorted. A few repeated Easy ratings could push the next review too far away. Repeated Again ratings could make the page appear too often.

Limiting each review-phase page to one grade per day keeps long-term scheduling more stable. The learning phase uses short steps instead because new material needs more frequent passes before graduation.

Again means you mostly forgot the material. Yuhimo schedules the next step more conservatively.

In the learning phase, Again usually brings the page back after a short interval (about 15 minutes), so it may appear again the same day.

In review, Again updates the schedule conservatively, but the page does not receive another grade the same calendar day. Yuhimo is built around learning pages, not rapid flashcard drills, so even a failed review waits until the next eligible day before another grade is recorded.

The review-phase limit is based on the calendar day in your timezone.

If you grade a review-phase page today, it becomes available for another grade on the next calendar day.

This keeps review behavior aligned with your local day instead of raw server time.

Yuhimo usually uses your browser’s timezone when you review, start sessions, or grade from a page. If no browser timezone is available, it may fall back to the timezone stored on your account. The goal is the same: “today” should match the day you experience locally.

After you grade a review-phase page in a session, Yuhimo removes it from the current review flow for the rest of that calendar day.

A learning-phase page may leave the session after grading but can return later the same day when its next learning step becomes due.

Review-phase pages can return in a future session when their next scheduled review date arrives. Early and late reviews still follow the same one-grade-per-day limit in review.

Scoped sessions follow the same phase rules.

If a review-phase page was already graded today, starting a scoped session for its branch does not reset the limit.

Learning-phase pages in a scoped session can still return the same day when their next learning step is due.

Manual grading from the page counts the same as grading inside a session.

For a review-phase page that is still waiting in today’s global or scoped review session, grading from the page usually completes that session step first. You do not get a separate review-grade for the same page twice the same day.

If the page is not in an active session queue, manual grading still updates scheduling the same way. Either way, once a review-phase page has received its review grade for the day, it cannot be graded again in a normal or scoped review session until the next calendar day. Ratings still come from self-assessment.

If you grade manually by mistake, undo may be available for a few seconds right after — the same short window as in a session. Undo only reverses that recent grade. It does not allow another review-grade later the same day once the window has passed.

If Yuhimo does not let you grade a review-phase page again today, it usually means the page has already received today’s review grade.

If a learning-phase page is not available yet, it may simply be waiting for its next short learning step.

Both cases are expected behavior, not a bug.

You review a graduated page called "React useEffect cleanup" in the morning and choose Good.

Later, you start a scoped session for your React notes. The same page is inside that branch.

Because the page is in review and was already graded today, Yuhimo does not let you grade it again. You can still read it, but the next review grade can only happen on the next calendar day.

By contrast, a new learning-phase page called "useEffect dependencies" might return the same afternoon if you chose Again earlier and its 15-minute step has become due.

The one-grade-per-day rule applies to review-phase pages and protects long-term scheduling quality.

Learning-phase pages use short steps and can be graded more than once per day when the next step is due. After graduation, each page gives one review signal per calendar day.

Can I rate the same page twice in one day?

In review, no — one review grade per calendar day. During the learning phase, yes, when the next short learning step becomes due.

Does this apply to scoped sessions?

Yes for review-phase pages. Learning-phase pages in scoped sessions follow short step intervals instead.

Does manual grading count?

Yes. Manual grading counts the same as a session rating for that page’s current phase.

Why does Again not show a review-phase page again today?

In review, Yuhimo records only one grade per calendar day. Again updates the schedule, but another grade waits until the next day.

Can Again bring a learning-phase page back the same day?

Yes. Again uses a short interval (about 15 minutes), so the page can become due again later the same day.

When can I grade a review-phase page again?

On the next calendar day, based on your timezone.

Can I still read the page after rating it?

Yes. You can still open and read the page. The limit only applies to submitting another review grade.
