Why AI is a helper

AI works around your notes and learning goal. It can draft pages and help create questions faster.

It can turn a topic, pasted text, or a file into a first draft of pages, or turn written notes into possible recall prompts. It should be treated as assistance, not authority.

You still decide what to save, what to edit, and how well you remembered the page.

Yuhimo uses self-assessment because recall quality is often context-dependent.

You may answer mentally, verbally, or in writing. A strict automatic checker could mark useful recall as wrong or shallow recognition as correct.

The system trusts you to grade recall with Again, Hard, Good, or Easy. This keeps the review workflow flexible and lightweight.

A blank or dense page can be hard to turn into review material. AI can suggest questions based on the page.

These questions can help you test recall later. Generated questions are starting points. You should still review, edit, delete, or rewrite them.

A page about "Event loop" may produce prompts like:

• What is the role of the call stack?
• How are microtasks different from macrotasks?
• Why can long-running tasks block the UI?

These prompts are useful only if they match the page and your learning goal.

If AI generates weak or confused questions, the page may be unclear.

If AI asks about missing context, you may need to add the missing explanation. If AI generates very broad questions, the page may be too broad.

If AI repeats similar questions, the page may lack structure. Generated questions can expose whether the page is ready for learning.

Sometimes the right fix is not editing the question. It is improving the page.

Generated questions should be reviewed before use.

• Rewrite vague questions
• Split broad questions
• Remove trivial questions
• Add important missing questions manually

During review, you still try to recall the page. You decide whether recall failed, was hard, was good, or was easy.

AI does not know how much effort the recall took. AI does not know whether you only recognized the answer after seeing it.

Honest grading matters more than having many generated questions.

Scheduling is handled by Yuhimo's learning system. Review grades update the scheduling state.

FSRS-light uses concepts like stability, difficulty, retrievability, and due date. AI question generation is separate from scheduling. AI does not decide when the page becomes due.

• expecting AI to grade recall
• expecting AI to replace study effort

1. Write a page, or create study material with AI and save the drafts you want to keep.
2. Turn on learning if the page should be reviewed.
3. Generate questions if prompts would help.
4. Review the generated questions.
5. Delete weak or duplicated questions.
6. Rewrite vague prompts.
7. Add missing context to the page if needed.
8. Review the page and grade recall honestly.

Why does Yuhimo use AI only as a helper?

Because the core review workflow depends on your actual recall. AI can generate prompts, but it cannot reliably know how well you remembered the material.

Can I use Yuhimo without AI?

Yes. AI is optional. You can create pages, questions, and learning pages manually.

Does AI decide which questions are important?

No. AI can suggest questions, but you should choose what matters for your learning goal.

Does AI affect my review schedule?

No. Scheduling is handled by Yuhimo's learning system and review grades, not by AI.

Should I edit AI-generated questions?

Yes. Generated questions should be treated as drafts.

Can AI replace studying?

No. AI can reduce setup work, but you still need to understand, recall, and self-assess the page.
