Create study material with AI

Study material generation creates a first draft of notes, not a finished knowledge base.

• One page, or a study tree of related pages
• Optional questions and answers on leaf pages
• Titles and learning objectives you can edit before pages are written

This is different from AI question generation, which only adds recall prompts to a page you already wrote.

• It does not write into your notes until you save.
• It does not enable learning or start a review session.
• It does not grade recall or check answers.
• It does not silently overwrite a page that already has content unless you chose to fill an empty page or add AI content to that page.
• It does not replace reviewing, editing, or writing pages yourself.

You can open Create study material from a few places:

• New page — use Generate with AI from the new-page control
• An empty page — use the Generate study material with AI card
• An existing page — use Add AI content to append generated material

The blank new-page action is unchanged. Generation is optional.

Study material generation needs an internet connection. See Offline mode.

Choose how Yuhimo should start:

• Create from a topic — describe the subject you want to study
• Use my material — paste notes, drafts, or other text
• Upload a PDF or DOCX — turn a file into a study plan

Clear source material usually produces a clearer outline. Vague topics and very short pastes often need more editing later.

File type, size, and other practical limits are in Study material generation limits.

A learning goal is optional. It describes what you want to be able to do or remember after studying.

The goal shapes the plan. It is not a test, and Yuhimo does not grade you against it.

Additional instructions are also optional. Use them for constraints such as tone, what to skip, or which examples to keep.

If you change the goal or instructions after the outline is ready, regenerate the outline so the plan can pick up the new guidance.

Choose a result format:

• Single page — a compact plan on one page
• Study tree — a structured set of pages with sections and subtopics

Then choose depth:

• Overview — a shorter pass at a high level
• Standard — a balance between coverage and detail
• In depth — more detail and structure

A study tree can create several pages. You still decide later which of those pages, if any, should enter learning.

Generated trees use normal nested pages. See Nested Pages.

Create outline builds a plan first. No pages are written yet.

Review titles, learning objectives, order, and sections. You can edit, move, add, or delete items in the outline before pages are generated.

When the plan looks right, generate pages. Writing runs in the background. You can leave the screen and come back later.

If the outline cannot be accepted, regenerate it or discard the generation and start again.

When pages are ready, review the drafts before saving them into your notes.

• Check that titles and content match what you wanted to study
• Retry or remove failed pages
• Save only when the remaining plan looks usable

AI-generated content may contain mistakes. Check important information before you rely on it.

Save stays unavailable while failed or needs-review pages remain. Nothing is added to your workspace until save succeeds.

After save, generated questions become normal page questions. You can still edit or delete them. See Edit generated questions.

After save, Yuhimo can offer Set up learning. This step is optional.

Select the pages you want in the learning queue. Generated pages do not become learning pages unless you add them.

You can skip this step and enable learning later on any page.

You can undo a generation for a limited time after save.

Undo removes generated pages and blocks that you have not edited. Later edits are kept.

A page may also be kept if you added your own subpages, moved it, or already deleted it. Review the undo summary before confirming.

Removed pages follow normal trash behavior. See Trash and restore.

Write the page yourself when you already know what belongs in the note.

• Personal notes and project-specific decisions
• Exact wording, formulas, or details you must remember as written
• Material AI is likely to oversimplify or misplace
• A page you already have and only need to turn into review prompts

Study material generation is most useful as a starting point. Keep what matches your goal and rewrite the rest.

Does generating study material add pages to my notes immediately?

No. Yuhimo shows an outline and then drafts. Pages are added only after you save.

Does save turn generated pages into learning pages?

No. Learning is a separate optional step. You can skip it and enable learning later.

Is this the same as generating questions on a page?

No. Study material generation can create pages. Question generation only creates recall prompts on an existing page.

Does AI grade my answers after generation?

No. During review you still choose Again, Hard, Good, or Easy.

Can I edit generated pages and questions?

Yes. After save they are normal pages and questions. You can edit, delete, or rewrite them.

What happens if I undo a generation?

Undo removes unedited generated pages and blocks. Content you edited is kept.
