Learn how review sessions, FSRS-light, due dates, and review timing work in Yuhimo.

Learning & Scheduling covers how Yuhimo decides when learning pages should be reviewed.

Review sessions show learning pages that are due. You grade recall with Again, Hard, Good, or Easy. Yuhimo uses those grades to update the next review date. Scheduling is page-based. Questions can help recall but do not control due status. You do not need to manage scheduling variables manually.

How scheduling fits together

The basic scheduling flow in Yuhimo looks like this:

  1. Learning page
  2. Review session
  3. Self-assessment grade
  4. FSRS-light update
  5. Next due date
  • The page is the unit being scheduled.
  • The grade reflects recall quality.
  • FSRS-light updates internal scheduling state.
  • The next due date changes after valid reviews.

What makes a page due

  • A page must have learning enabled.
  • The page must be eligible according to its due date.
  • The page may be excluded by scoped session filters.
  • The page may already have received its review-grade for today, or a learning-phase page may be waiting for its next short step.
  • Questions are not required for due status.

Review grades

  • Again means recall failed or was not good enough.
  • Hard means recall worked but required effort.
  • Good means recall was successful enough.
  • Easy means recall was strong.
  • Grades should reflect actual recall, not importance or preference.

FSRS-light concepts

  • Stability estimates how long memory can last.
  • Difficulty estimates how hard the page is to retain.
  • Retrievability estimates how likely recall is right now.
  • Due date is the practical result shown to you.

These are internal scheduling signals. You do not need to edit them manually.

Timing matters

  • Early reviews usually give less scheduling progress.
  • Successful overdue reviews can sometimes give more progress.
  • The same grade can produce different intervals depending on timing and page history.
  • This is expected behavior.

Daily grading limit

  • In review, Yuhimo uses one grade per page per calendar day.
  • Learning-phase pages use short step intervals and can return the same day when due.
  • This prevents repeated same-day review grades from distorting long-term scheduling.
  • Reading or editing a page is different from recording another review grade.
