Find quick explanations and links for common Yuhimo troubleshooting questions.

Troubleshooting · Updated 2026-08-27

Many Yuhimo questions come from a small set of expected behaviors: learning not enabled, due dates, scoped review sessions, learning- vs review-phase grading rules, page-tree moves, search limits, offline read-only mode, confusing export with backup, or misunderstanding what questions and AI do.

Most of these are expected behaviors, not necessarily bugs. Use this page as a start-here troubleshooting index, then open the linked article for the full explanation.

Start with these checks

  • Is learning enabled for the page?
  • Is the page actually due?
  • Was a review-phase page already graded today, or is a learning-phase page waiting for its next step?
  • Are you inside a scoped review session?
  • Are you looking at the parent page instead of the child page?
  • Are you offline?
  • Are you expecting questions or AI to control scheduling?
  • Are you confusing export with backup?
  • Are you trying to move a page into its own subtree?
  • Is your search query too short or too vague?

When it might actually be a bug

Some issues may need support if behavior contradicts the docs.

  • a learning page is due, not graded today, inside the correct scope, but never appears
  • a page disappears from the workspace unexpectedly
  • restore creates content that cannot be opened
  • export fails completely
  • the same page shows inconsistent due dates after refresh
  • offline mode shows clearly corrupted cached content

If the behavior matches the docs, the detailed troubleshooting articles above are usually the right place to start.

Before contacting support

  • Check whether learning is enabled.
  • Check the due date.
  • Check whether a review-phase page was already graded today, or whether a learning-phase page is waiting for its next step.
  • Check whether the session is scoped.
  • Check whether you are online.
  • Check whether the issue involves a parent page or child page.
  • Refresh or reopen the app if content looks outdated.
  • Note which page, action, and time caused the issue.

FAQ

Is every issue on this page a bug?
No. Many issues are expected behavior caused by scheduling, daily grading limits, scoped sessions, or offline read-only mode.
Why is my page missing from review?
It may not be a learning page, may not be due, may already have its review-grade for today, may be waiting for a learning step, or may be outside the current session scope. See Why isn’t my page due?
Why can’t I grade again after editing questions?
Question edits do not reset grading eligibility. In review, the one-grade-per-day limit still applies. See Why can’t I grade again?
Why did AI create bad questions?
AI-generated questions are drafts and can be vague, duplicated, or focused on the wrong idea. Edit them. See Edit generated questions.
Why did backup restore create copies?
Restore adds new page copies instead of replacing your workspace. This avoids overwriting newer work. See Backups and restore behavior.
Is PDF, HTML, or TXT export a backup?
No. Those are readable exports. Use backup for Yuhimo recovery.
Why did my review progress not restore?
You may have restored without preserve study state, or the backup may not have included that learning data. Restored pages are always new copies.
Is offline cache a backup?
No. Cached offline content is for reading available content while offline. It should not be treated as recovery storage.
