Start a review session

To appear in a review session, a page must have learning enabled and a next review date that is today or in the past.

Before a page can appear in a review session, learning must be enabled for that page.

A page becomes available for review when its next review date has arrived. If the review date is today or already in the past, the page is due.

Regular pages are not included in review sessions. Only learning pages appear.

Open the home dashboard or learning area in Yuhimo.

If you have pages due for review, use "Start review session" or "Start review" to begin.

Yuhimo opens a focused flow with review-phase pages that are ready to review.

Session size, snapshots, and learning-phase flows are described in Session types in Yuhimo.

If a session is already in progress, you can choose "Continue review session" to pick up where you left off. For the broader picture, see How reviews work.

During a review session, Yuhimo keeps the interface focused.

You may see the page title, questions, suggested answers, and a way to open the original page content.

The goal is to recall first, then check yourself.

1. Try to remember the page without reading the full content.
2. If the page has questions, use them as prompts and answer from memory first.
3. Reveal the answer or open the page content to check yourself.
4. Choose the rating that best matches your recall.

You do not need to repeat the whole page word for word. Focus on the parts that matter. Questions are optional, but they can make recall easier.

After checking yourself, choose the rating that best describes your recall.

• Again — you mostly forgot the material.
• Hard — you remembered it, but it took effort.
• Good — you remembered it well enough.
• Easy — you remembered it clearly and quickly.

These ratings are scheduling signals. They are not school grades.

Be honest. The rating helps Yuhimo decide when the page should come back. Yuhimo uses self-assessment instead of automatic grading.

After you rate a page, Yuhimo updates its learning state and calculates the next review date.

The page leaves the current review flow and will return in a future session when it becomes due again.

If you chose the wrong rating by mistake, use undo immediately while it is still shown — usually for about 10 seconds. Only your most recent grade in that moment can be undone. Undo restores the previous scheduling state; it does not let you grade the same review-phase page again later today after the window closes.

Yuhimo saves the rating in review history and uses it to adjust scheduling. For a simple overview of what changes behind the scenes, see FSRS-light explained.

If you choose Again, Yuhimo treats the material as mostly forgotten and schedules the next step more conservatively.

In the learning phase, Again usually brings the page back after a short interval (about 15 minutes), so it may appear again the same day.

In review, the page does not receive another grade the same calendar day. See One grade per day for how learning and review phases differ.

If no pages are due, there may be nothing to review in the main session.

This means your learning pages are not scheduled for review right now.

If you want to study a specific topic anyway, use a scoped learning session if that flow is available.

Why is my page not in the review session?

The page may not have learning enabled, or its next review date may not have arrived yet.

Can regular pages appear in review sessions?

No. Only pages with learning enabled can appear in review sessions.

Do I need questions to review a page?

No. Questions are optional. You can review by recalling the page and checking the original content.

What happens after I choose a rating?

Yuhimo updates the page's learning state and schedules the next review.
