Where your data is stored

The core user data in Yuhimo is your workspace content.

This includes:

• pages
• page titles
• page content
• page hierarchy and nested pages
• links and references stored inside pages
• questions attached to pages when you use them
• pages in trash (separate from active workspace pages until restored or permanently removed)

Deleting moves pages to trash rather than removing them immediately. Deleting a parent moves its whole subtree to trash.

A normal page can exist without learning enabled. It is still part of your workspace. See Pages for how pages work as the main unit.

When learning is enabled for a page, Yuhimo stores additional scheduling information.

This can include:

• whether learning is enabled for the page
• review state and due date
• review history where supported
• FSRS-light values such as stability, difficulty, and retrievability
• last review day behavior for review-phase pages (one grade per calendar day)

This data helps Yuhimo decide when the page should appear in review sessions. It does not replace the page content itself.

Questions are attached to pages. They are optional prompts for recall, not separate flashcards in the core model.

AI-generated questions become page questions only after you save or accept them according to the current product flow. They do not replace page content by themselves.

Study material generation can create pages, or change a page body if you fill an empty page or add AI content. Those drafts become normal pages only after you save. See Create study material with AI.

Yuhimo does not grade answers against questions. Your self-assessment grade controls scheduling.

A page can be reviewed without questions. See Questions for how prompts fit into review.

Offline mode keeps a read-only snapshot in browser local storage on each device. It is separate from live workspace data on Yuhimo’s servers.

Enabling offline access downloads or refreshes that snapshot while online. The cache is for access when the network is down — not backup, not export, and not full local-first editing.

• About 20 MB per note
• About 300 MB total offline cache per device
• Reconnect refreshes cached data; content may look stale until refresh completes

Yuhimo does not store files, images, or videos directly inside pages.

Use links to external resources instead. A page can reference external content, but you should write the important takeaways inside the page.

Do not rely only on external links for review material. Links may break or become unavailable later.

Export saves readable copies — HTML, TXT, or PDF for a single page, or HTML or TXT in a ZIP for a subtree. Export is content-oriented, not a full Yuhimo backup.

Readable exports are useful for portability, archiving, or sharing. They usually do not include full learning state, review history, or restore-ready workspace structure.

Do not use export as your only recovery plan. Use backup when you need to restore Yuhimo data later.

Backup is for recovery inside Yuhimo. A backup is a structured file you can restore later — not a readable export.

You can create full workspace, single-page, or subtree backups. Depending on scope, a backup can include pages, hierarchy, questions, and learning state.

Restore adds imported pages as copies with new IDs. It does not replace, overwrite, or delete your current workspace. On restore you can optionally preserve study state so scheduling data from the backup applies to the new copies.

If a backup file has invalid structure, Yuhimo may repair orphans, cycles, or broken embedded references and show warnings when something could not be restored exactly.

Export helps with portability. Backup helps with recovery.

Export may lose app-specific behavior such as scheduling state, review history, and restore-ready structure. Backup is meant to preserve a restorable Yuhimo state.

• Do not assume offline mode allows editing.
• Do not assume exported files are full backups.
• Do not assume external links will always remain available.
• Do not assume AI-generated questions are automatically verified.
• Do not assume restoring a backup overwrites the current workspace.
• Do not assume Yuhimo stores uploaded files, images, or videos inside pages.

Is export the same as backup?

No. Export is mainly for portability and readable copies. Backup is for recovery and restore into Yuhimo. They should not be treated as the same workflow.

Does restoring a backup overwrite my workspace?

No. Yuhimo restore adds restored content as copies. Your current pages are not overwritten or deleted.

Can restore keep my review schedule?

Only if you choose preserve study state during restore and the backup included that learning data. Otherwise restored pages use default learning behavior.

Can I edit while offline?

No. Offline mode is read-only for cached content. Editing, grading, backups, restore, and AI generation require an internet connection.

Are questions stored separately from pages?

Questions are attached to pages. They are optional prompts and do not replace the page as the main learning unit.

Are external files stored inside Yuhimo?

No. Yuhimo does not store files, images, or videos directly inside pages. Use links to external resources and keep key notes inside the page.

Does exported content include all learning state?

Usually not. Readable export focuses on page content. If you need a restorable copy with learning progress, use backup instead of treating export as a full backup.
