Why did my review date change?

Yuhimo schedules learning pages using FSRS-light. The due date is the practical result of that calculation.

It is affected by review history, current page state, and the latest grade. You do not manually manage stability, difficulty, or retrievability. Yuhimo recalculates the next review timing after a valid grade.

Each grade sends a different scheduling signal:

• Again — recall failed or was not good enough; usually brings the page back sooner
• Hard — recall worked but required effort; usually gives less progress than Good
• Good — recall was successful enough; usually gives normal scheduling progress
• Easy — recall was strong; usually moves the page farther out than Good

These are conceptual effects. Yuhimo does not use one fixed interval for every page with the same grade.

Grades come from self-assessment, not automatic answer checking.

Two pages can receive the same grade but get different next review dates.

Reasons include different review histories, stability, difficulty, retrievability, previous grades, and review timing. One page may have been reviewed early or late while another was reviewed on time.

For example, a mature page marked Good may move farther out than a new page marked Good because the mature page already has stronger scheduling history.

If a page is reviewed before it is due, Yuhimo may treat that review differently.

Early successful reviews usually give less scheduling progress. This prevents inflating intervals by reviewing the same material too soon. The page may not move as far into the future as you expected.

If a page is reviewed after its due date, the result may also differ.

A successful overdue review can show that the page lasted longer than expected. Yuhimo may give more scheduling progress after successful late recall. If the page was forgotten, the next date may come sooner.

For pages in review, Yuhimo records one grade per page per calendar day.

If a review-phase page was already graded today, another grade should not change the date again today. This prevents repeated same-day review grades from distorting long-term scheduling.

Learning-phase pages can be graded again when their next short step is due, which may update the date more than once on the same calendar day.

Adding questions does not automatically change the due date. Editing questions does not automatically recalculate the schedule by itself. Deleting questions does not necessarily remove the page from scheduling if learning remains enabled.

Review dates are tied to learning state and review grades, not simply to question count.

Editing the content of a learning page may improve future recall, but a normal page edit should not be assumed to reset scheduling.

If the page content changed significantly, future review grades will gradually update scheduling. Yuhimo does not automatically reschedule a page just because the text changed.

Parent pages and child pages are separate pages. Each learning page has its own scheduling state.

Editing or grading a child page does not automatically update the parent page’s due date. Grading a parent page does not automatically update child pages. If both are learning pages, each can have its own next review date.

Calendar-day logic can affect whether a grade counts as today or tomorrow.

Yuhimo uses your local calendar day / timezone behavior for the review-phase one-grade-per-day rule. Users near midnight may notice behavior that depends on day boundaries.

• Did you grade the page with Again, Hard, Good, or Easy?
• Was the page reviewed early?
• Was the page overdue?
• If in review, was it already graded today?
• Are you looking at a parent page instead of a child page?
• Did you expect questions or page edits to change the date?
• Does the page have a different review history than another page?
• Did the grade honestly reflect your recall?

If the date changed after a grade, this is usually expected.

If the page moved too far out, be stricter with Easy and Good when recall was not actually strong.

If the page keeps coming back too soon, check whether you are marking Hard or Again often.

If the page is difficult, improve the page or split it into smaller child pages.

Why did Easy move my review farther away?

Easy usually signals strong recall, so Yuhimo may schedule the page farther into the future depending on the page’s scheduling state.

Why did Good not move the page very far?

Good is only one input. The page may still have low stability, high difficulty, limited history, or may have been reviewed early.

Why did a late review change the interval?

Late timing matters. A successful overdue review can suggest stronger retention than expected, while a failed overdue review can bring the page back sooner.

Does editing questions change the review date?

Not by itself. Review dates are mainly affected by review grades and scheduling state.

Can I change the date again by grading twice?

In review, no — one grade per calendar day. During the learning phase, another grade can update the date when the next short step is due.

Why do two pages with the same grade have different dates?

Each page has its own review history, stability, difficulty, retrievability, and timing, so the same grade can produce different results.
